ABOUT YOUR DIRECTOR:
Philip Kittiver comes to Theater In The Park with almost 30 years of experience in teaching children's drama.  Philip holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, and he toured the US for two years with the Repertory Theater of America, performing 6 comedies in more than forty states.  Mr. Kittiver spent his college summer breaks teaching at the Followspot Theatre Camp in Fairfax County, teaching Acting & Storytelling to K-12 performers.  While Philip and his wife, Heather, raised three kids in Severna Park, Philip also wrote and directed free summer plays for the kids of his Sheffield Park neighborhood.  Mr. Kittiver began volunteering for the Folger McKinsey Elementary School Play when his kids attended in 2010, and served as Folger's Producer and then the writer/director of the Folger play from 2014-2019.  Philip Kittiver has been the Acting Coach for Theater in the Park since it's opening season, and he also runs its Youth Actors Studio for non-musical productions for grades K-12.  Having experience as a Severna Park parent, Philip focuses his drama programs on the fun and self-esteem that can be gained from the performing arts.
