Workshop includes scenes, dances and songs from well known Broadway productions. Students will have an opportunity to experience performance level instruction and learn all the elements of Musical Theater. Students will perform their scenes, dances and songs on the stage for family and friends.
Costumes are optional. Students may put things together from their closets or consignment. TITP may have some costumes in their costume closet to use. Or families may choose to purchase costumes. Most likely we will go with a black base and add accessories.
MEET YOUR DIRECTOR
KYLIE SJOLIE
With over a decade of experience directing children’s theater, Kylie is proud to be a part of Theater in the Park, where she is deeply involved in creating joyful, high-quality theatrical experiences for young performers. She currently works at the Severna Park Community Center as their sales marketing and event coordinator. She has directed over 40 musicals at a variety of schools and theaters, including Severna Park Middle School, Central Middle School, Benfield Elementary School and Severna Park High School. In addition to directing, Kylie is an experienced choreographer and performer, having appeared on stages throughout the region. She was honored to receive a WATCH Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.
MEET YOUR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
JULIE SINDLER
Julie loves directing at TITP. Julie has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Theater from JMU. She loves to work with the young performers on developing their acting skills so that they can become even more confident in their performances. Some TITP credits include The Wizard of Oz, Descendants, Newsies, SpongeBob, High School Musical, and Matilda. Julie also works with Mr. Phil in the Youth Actor's Studio. Julie enjoys going to see Broadway shows whenever she gets the chance (Phantom and Gatsby are favorites)!
